Leadership Day at Camp St. Croix. Look at all those young leaders! We were so proud to have these Student Mentees, Sustainability Clubbers, Student Council Trailblazers, YAH Empowerers, SADD Initiators, and Flippers all at Leadership Day.
What is a leader?
Bringing People Together
We must thank the Camp St. Croix staff for their enthusiasm! Groups spent two hours either in the morning or afternoon in the extreme heat partaking in outdoor initiatives that the Camp St. Croix staff led. They sought knowledge, resourcefulness, confidence, communication, creativity and energy from our youth.
Secondly we give a big shout out to Josh Reimnitz, Co-Executive Director of STLF, for jumpstarting our leadership day! Josh talked a lot about values and while leadership is learned, the skills and knowledge processed by the leader can be influenced by his or her attributes or traits, such as beliefs, values, ethics, and character. These attributes give each of these leaders their own individual uniqueness.
Lastly, Restorative Justice came out to form circles with both the youth and the freshmen advisory teachers. We thank them for facilitating these circles and this will pave the way for the new school year.
Overall Leadership Day was a success!
"I lead best when I help others to go where we've decided we want to go. I lead best when I forget about myself as a leader and focus on my group, their needs, and their goals. To lead is to serve, to give and achieve together."
