Youth Action Presents: Miss Representation

Picture
Miss Representation is an informative documentary addressing the influential role the media plays in both the lives of young women and young men. The film also challenges the media’s limited and often disparaging portrayals of women and girls, which make it difficult for women to achieve leadership positions and for the average woman to feel powerful herself. We chose Miss Representationfor Youth Action Hudson’s community seminar because we wanted to empower both young women and young men to take advantage of opportunities that will help them explore their individuality while positively supporting one another. This spring, YAH correlated the Peer-to-Peer presentations
at the Hudson Middle School on
self-confidence to our community seminar.

On May 31, 2012 Youth Action Hudson presents Miss Representation at the Hudson High School Auditorium. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
