Visionary board members, enthusiastic youth, generous donors, dedicated staff and hardworking volunteers must be recognized for their commitment to Youth Action Hudson.  Community organizations have offered support to YAH as well:  Rotary clubs, schools, businesses, law enforcement, parents, United Way and other funders.  The support of each one of these individuals and organizations is instrumental in helping us to engage and empower Hudson youth in positive ways.

With your help, we can do even more to ensure that our youth reach their full potential as healthy, resilient, contributing members of our community.

Vivian Hart, Interim Executive Director

Our program builds on core principles of the Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets which are grounded in extensive research in youth development, resiliency, and prevention.

The Developmental Assets represent the relationships, opportunities, and personal qualities that young people need to avoid risks and to thrive, including resiliency, connectedness and engagement.

Our effective prevention efforts are developmentally, culturally and gender appropriate for teens while keeping pace with how teens spend their time.

  • Youth will be the central leaders in designing and implementing Youth Action Hudson's programs, using strategies that capitalize on their energy and leadership.
  • Youth will assess and identify needs to be addressed in their community (risk factors) and will identify assets and supports that should be promoted or enhanced.
